Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 50-minute drive to the heart of the beautiful Casablanca Valley. Whilst there have been vineyards in the Casablanca Valley since 1875, the true potential of the valley wasn't discovered until the 1980s, when it was determined that the soils and the conditions were similar to those of the Napa and Sonoma valleys in California. The Casablanca Valley is oriented in such a way that daily ocean breezes cool the grapes on the vines, resulting in intensely fruity wines when properly vinified.

Local Winery Visit, Guided Tour and Tasting

A visit is made to one of the local wineries in the Casablanca Valley. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of the winery, and see and learn about the wine-making process. Following your tour, proceed for a tasting of some of the wines produced here. Leaving the winery, re-board your coach and head to the nearby Puro Caballo Ranch.

Upon arrival, you are welcomed and introduced to the 'huaso' traditions of Chile. First, learn about purebred Chilean horses. Due to their special morphology, they can do things that no other species of horses in the world can do. Next, enjoy a glass of Pisco sour whilst observing an exhibition of the skills of the 'duet' between man and horse. Following this exhibition, proceed for a delicious Chilean lunch at the ranch's restaurant, which features traditional rural decor. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.5 miles (about 0.8 kilometres), at times over uneven and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and 15 steps at the Winery and Puro Caballo Ranch. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing in layers with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and US Dollars, local currency, or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. The tour sequence may vary.
