Discover the picturesque beauty, history and architecture of Olinda and its local carnival tradition. Your tour begins with a scenic drive through Recife towards the old capital city of Olinda, a UNESCO Natural and Cultural Patrimony of Humanity, and home to grand houses and colonial churches.
Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour through the historic center of Olina and visit São Bento Monastery. After the visit continue to Pousada Quatro Cantos for some refreshments and local entertainment, get a peek into the local carnival and dance traditions, a special performance created for Silversea guests. Olinda Carnival a celebration filled with exciting Samba music and enthralling dance moves; more than 500 groups taking part in its parade yearly, amongst its huge paper mache puppets and the infectious 'frevo' rhythms.
After the carnival experience, return to Recife with a final stop at Casa da Cultura, a prison that has been transformed into a handicraft market. Visit the market with some leisure time to browse the items available for sale before returning to the port.

Please note: A moderate amount of walking and standing for approximately 1.5 km (0.93 miles). At times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces (and inclines), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach.
