Jeju, Gotjawal, Hwansang Forest, Guided Walking Tour, Flora & Fauna
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to the Hwansang Forest. One of four major areas of Gotjawal, this natural, green primeval forest in Jeju Island was formed on top of a rock. Upon arrival, take a guided and narrated walking tour through the forest, and listen to stories about the local lifestyle and people. In addition, learn about Gotjawal’s diverse and abundant species of fauna and flora, which cohabitate on this prized area of unusual geography left behind by lava. Since it remains cool in the summer and warm in the winter, Gotjawal is the only place in the world where northern distributional limit plants and southern distribution limit plants can coexist.
Gotjawal Forest, Damyang, Foot Bath Venue, Oriental Herb Tea, Foot Bath
Next, re-board your coach and head to a nearby foot spa venue in Damyang, located in the Gotjawal Forest. Upon arrival, relax with a cup of hanbang (Oriental herb) tea, and enjoy an incredibly soothing and therapeutic foot bath. A welcome respite following your forest stroll. Leaving the foot bath venue, re-board your coach and drive to the O’Sulloc Tea Museum for a tea culture experience.
Seogwang Tea Garden, O’Sulloc Tea Museum, Panoramic Tea Fields, Shopping
Opened in 2001, the museum is located at the entrance of the Seogwang Tea Garden on Jeju Island. It has since become a major attraction, with visitors coming from all over to enjoy panoramic views and photo opportunities of the green tea fields. You can also purchase loose teas and tea-related products, including delicious green tea ice cream. The O’Sulloc Tea Museum is the materialisation of a green teacup and place of culture. Traditional and modern east-and-west are harmonised in these beautiful and serene natural surrounds; a wonderful setting in which to explore Sulloc cha. Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
