Excursion Geisha performance with local dinner tour at Osaka
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Savour a unique opportunity to experience an authentic Geisha performance with dinner during this unforgettable, half-day Geisha excursion.
Kyoto, Japanese Dinner with Geisha Performance
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1 hour - 45 minutes drive to the dinner venue. Upon arrival, you are seated for a Japanese Kaiseki Style dinner. During dinner, you are treated to an authentic Geisha performance, a rare treat even for the Japanese people due to its limited public access and a traditional business custom prohibiting first-time visitors from making reservations. In honour of your visit tonight, you have been granted special access to this unique occasion.
About the Geisha Performance
Geishas are professional entertainers who attend to guests during meals and other occasions, and have been wearing kimonos since the Edo Period (1603-1867). They are regarded as 'traditional and iconic Japanese women' who have learned graceful behaviour, traditional customs, and various Japanese arts such as dancing and playing musical instruments. The role of the Geisha is to make guests feel at ease with conversation, using special dialects, drinking games, and dance performances. At the conclusion of this special occasion, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 75-minute drive back to the pier.

Note
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 219 yards (about 200 metres), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and 10 steps at the restaurant. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility, but is not wheelchair-accessible. Guests are advised to wear smart-casual, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a sweater or light jacket, bottled water, and Japanese Yen or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Although credit cards are mostly accepted, Japanese Yen is required for any purchases; guests are advised to exchange money at the airport prior to the cruise. Proper attire is required to enter temples and shrines; shorts and bare shoulders are not permitted. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. Guests must be at least 20 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Infrastructure in Osaka may be basic, and local conditions may be challenging; coaches, guides, hotels, restaurants, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other ports. Therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique, less-touristic destinations. The cost of providing a tour programme in this area is proportionately more expensive than in neighbouring regions, as vehicles and guides are brought in from the whole region. This may be reflected in the prices of the tours, and we thank you for your understanding. Additional beverages are available at the restaurant at each guest’s own expense. This tour is available in the evening only. The driving time between the pier and sites visited is approximately 1 hour - 45 minutes in each direction. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
