Difficulty:

Begin your half-day excursion with a scenic drive from the pier, offering glimpses of Genoa’s bustling port and city landmarks. Your first stop is the Castello D’Albertis, perched atop a hill with breathtaking views over Genoa’s harbor.

D’Albertis Castle Museum

Step inside the home of Captain Enrico Alberto D’Albertis, a remarkable 19th-century sailor, writer, and collector whose life was a tapestry of adventure and cultural discovery. D’Albertis traveled extensively through Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania, gathering artifacts and documenting the diverse cultures he encountered.

During your guided visit, explore the Museum of World Cultures housed within the castle. Admire rare items from across the globe, from ceremonial masks to historical navigational instruments. Walk through the noble floor and original living quarters, where neo-Gothic, Moorish, and medieval architectural details reveal the captain’s eclectic tastes. Step out onto the castle terrace to take in spectacular panoramic views of the city and harbor.

After the castle visit, drive towards Piazza De Ferrari, Genoa’s vibrant city center, and enter the Ducal Palace for a delightful aperitif, featuring local focaccia, pastries, and a glass of Ligurian white wine or a hot beverage. After your tasting experience, return by coach to the pier.
