Glenmorangie Distillery Tour and Tasting

Depart the pier and head for nearby Tain and the world-renowned home of Glenmorangie malt whisky. Glenmorangie means 'The Glen of Tranquillity'. After an approximately 30-minute drive to the shores of the Dornoch Firth, take a guided tour of the facility. Observe the production process and learn about the history of this small town, the distillery and the Sixteen Men of Tain, whose skills, expertise and incredible patience are responsible for the delightful Glenmorangie malt whisky.


Your tour include a short video introduction to whisky, followed by a visit to the small museum, and tour of the distillery, including the warehouses where the whisky rests in casks. At the end of your tour you will have the opportunity to taste the finished product by way of a tutored tasting.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing for 1.5 hours, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, approximately 30 stairs at the distillery. It is not permitted to take photos and mobile devices will need to be switched off during the visit to the distillery. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, a sweater or jacket, flat, closed toe walking shoes are recommended. Due to the local climate, most of the coaches are air cooled. Guests must be at least 18 years old to participate in the whisky-tasting.
