Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Explore the pristine nature and traditional villages surrounding Guaraqueçaba, located on a gorgeous bay with the peaks of Serra do Mar dominating the background. This tour takes you to one of the oldest towns in Parana, the city of Guaraqueçaba. Surrounding the city, over 70% of the land is nearly untouched forests still in a primary state and has not suffered significant changes by the hands of men.

Begin your full day tour with an early morning transfer by speedboat to Guaraqueçaba. This tour boat from Paranaguá to Guaraqueçaba provides you the chance to get to know traditional villages and see local people going about their daily lives.

Next transfer via a 30-minute bus ride to the Natural Reserve Salto Morato. This reserve opened to the public in 1996 and boasts 2.340 hectares of protected landscapes of rare beauty, with one of its main features the Salto Morato, a waterfall of approximately 100 meters. Hike 90 minutes one way to the waterfall and pass the fig tree of Rio do Engenho, whose root forms a "gate" over the width of six meters of the river.

The Reservation has educational trails, kiosks, a natural aquarium for bathing, a camping, a laboratory, a hostel for researchers, and a training center. Together with other conservation units of the area, it is accredited by UNESCO as a Natural Patrimony of Humanity. Make the return hike and arrive at the visitor center to enjoy a short presentation on the Atlantic Rain Forest Region conservation projects happening at the reserve.

Transfer 30 minutes back to downtown Guaraqueçaba and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Take a short walking tour of the historical town center and then transfer by speedboat (1 hour) to the pier.
