Two-hour Catamaran Cruise to Halifax Island

Depart for your 2-hour cruise to Halifax Island, and see African Penguins in their natural habitat and also get the opportunity for stunning photography and sea bird watching. It is the third most important breeding site for African penguins in Nambia.


The catamaran passes two islands and heads towards the Agate Beach for beautiful views of the dunes and sea. On your way back, you will see different fishing boats appear vividly on the ocean, with hills of Lüderitz surround the bay. On the one hand you will see Shark Island and The Lighthouse, while the fishing factories are on the other side of the Waterfront.


You might have the opportunity to see Heavy side Dolphins escorting the boat along the way, and see other marine life, such as Cape Fur Seals, various seabirds; and in season, Southern Right and Humpback whales. Wildlife sighting are not guaranteed.


Return to the jetty and to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal to moderate amount of walking to the jetty of approximately 500metres or 0.3miles and ability to board the boat. It is suitable for guests with limited mobility but however able to negotiate a few steps. It is not wheelchair accessible. Lightweight comfortable clothing, a warm, wind proof jacket and flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended. Please note that this tour is strictly weather dependent. Qualified guides are limited and all tours, small vehicles and coach tours, are conducted with driver/guides only; some may lack experience in guiding for visiting cruise ships, however, their local experiences will carry over well to all guests. We please urge flexibility. The vehicles are extremely limited in numbers and are contracted from neighboring towns therefore this may affect on the cost. We thank you for your understanding.
