Excursion Palomino island tour at Lima
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Explore the islands of Callao in a unique and exciting new way during this half-day sailing excursion to Palomino Island by boat.
Depart the pier for the short drive to the jetty of the Marina Yacht Club of Callao. Upon arrival, embark a boat and sail to the islands of Callao. En route, sail past the yachts, warships and merchant ships anchored in Callao Bay, then over 'El Camotal' and into the open sea. Along the way, pass by shipwrecks and the Isle of San Lorenzo, which dates back to pre-Columbian times. See fishing boats at work, and many colonies of sea birds and Humboldt penguins.
The farthest point on the trip is Palomino Island, home to a large number of seals and sea lions. During your visit here, you may opt to don a wetsuit and take a complimentary swim among the seals and sea lions, as they have no predators. Although few guests take advantage of this unique opportunity due to the cold water temperatures, those who do relish an unforgettable and emotional experience.
Following your visit to Palomino Island, embark your boat for the approximately 30-minute ride back to the Marina Yacht Club. Upon arrival back at the jetty of the Marina Yacht Club, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.
