Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 2.5-hour coach tour of panoramic Trieste and its surroundings, with photo stops along the way. Your first stop is at the spectacular Piazza Unità d'Italia, which is one of the largest in Europe and overlooks the sea. Afterward, pass through the city centre, the Greek Orthodox Church and Ponte Rosso Canal.

Next, continue on to San Giusto Hill and stop for photos at the Cathedral. After re-boarding your coach, drive along the coastal road with its white cliffs, little bays and Miramare Castle (view from distance), a small fortress perched on rocky spurs that drop down into the sea. From here, pass through the Karst headland, with its unmistakeable colours and distinct natural features, and wonderful views of the city and its gulf. At the conclusion of your tour, you may return directly to the pier, or opt to be dropped off in town for independent shopping and exploration, and return to the ship on your own.
