Excursion Private lunch at grand cru classé château giscours and bordeaux discovery tour at Bordeaux

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

After departing the Pauillac pier, your guide will take you to the Margaux vineyards, southernmost part of the Médoc area, and starting point of the famous “Route des Châteaux”. The Medoc wine road, located between the Gironde estuary and the Landes forest, provides magnificent views of vine-covered gravelly rises as far as the eye can see.

You will then be heading towards the gorgious Château Giscours, one of the flagships of the Bordeaux wine world. Château Giscours has constantly reinvented itself to survive the centuries. The successive ambitious and visionary estate owners were passionate about pulling together the estate’s land and giving this vineyard, named a Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855, a reputation for excellence. You will learn all about the wine making techniques, and have an exquisite private lunch. Indeed, after a visit and wine tasting, pre-lunch drinks and appetizers will be served at the balcony of the chateau. Lunch will be served in the dining room of the chateau, prepared by the Chef, Benjamin Laurent.

After this unique and intimate experience in the very heart of Bordeaux vineyard, you will reach Bordeaux and have the opportunity to discover its treasures: Place de la Bourse (18th century), the river Front (18th), the Cailhau Gate (15th), the « Grosse cloche », the Cathedral of St André (13th), the Gambetta square, the Grand Theatre built by Victor Louis in 1773 (one of the most beautiful opera house in Europe and a pure work of Art from the 18th Century)... After an orientation tour, enjoy some free time in the heart of the city.
