Your S.A.L.T. Program experience begins with a scenic, approximately 30-minute drive past small farms and through the rural villages of the Karst region en route to the Belajevi Farm. Upon arrival, meet owner Adrejka Cerkvenik. A researcher and writer of healthy cuisine, Adrejka has also written a book about her cuisine and research, and it is available for sale during your visit. Adrejka's family's Karst farming roots date back to her great-grandfather, Anton, a renowned local farmer recognised for his advanced sustainable farming techniques. Today, Adrejka has revived her inherited farming tradition at her lovely farm.
Herbal Garden Tour, Kitchen, Culinary Workshop, Satureja Knives Exhibition
Upon arrival at the Belajevi Farm, your visit begins with a guided walking tour of the Herbal Garden. Along the way, explore the richest collection of medicinal plants, spices, and wild edible plants on the entire coast. Learn about the picking, cultivation, and processing of healthy, top-quality herbs and spices grown indoors and outdoors, their medicinal benefits, techniques for revitalising the soil, and practical solutions for home spice care. Afterward, proceed to the kitchen for a unique culinary workshop. Take in an exhibition on the use of Adrejka's hand-made, hand-forged Satureja knives and how to prepare a frittata, a traditional egg dish made with homemade seasonal ingredients.
Royal Brunch, Karst Specialities, Wine Tasting
Following your culinary workshop, enjoy a delicious brunch prepared with fresh herbs and spices seen during your Herbal Garden tour, along with wild-grown ingredients. Your brunch may include local specialities such as Saturej pâté, fragrant cottage cheese, the frittata prepared during the culinary workshop, Karst prosciutto with Karst šetraj, a local favourite, spiced cookies, herbal tea, and a tasting of two Karst wines. After brunch, your S.A.L.T. Program excursion concludes with an approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This S.A.L.T. Program tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 109 yards (about 100 metres), at times over uneven, cobblestone, and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and four steps at the Belajevi Farmhouse. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a sweater or light jacket, and Euros or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least seven years old to participate on this tour; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years old. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. This tour is available during mornings only. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
