Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Experience the legendary seaside resort of Saint Tropez at your leisure during this full-day, self-guided sightseeing excursion.
Saint Tropez,
Depart the pier with your local escort for the scenic, approximately 1 hour and 45-minute drive to Saint Tropez, one of the best-known towns on the French Riviera. St. Tropez became internationally-renowned during the 1950s as the setting for such films as And God Created Woman, which starred French actress Brigitte Bardot and forever changed this once-sleepy fishing village into a legendary seaside resort. Today, Saint Tropez is a favourite summer destination for international jet-setters and luminaries. En route, learn about the different things to do and see during your free time in Saint Tropez. Upon arrival at the drop-off point, begin your guided tour of this wonderful little fishing port or begin the time at your leisure. 3 to 4 hours free time will be given.
Old Port & Town, Annonciade Museum, Museum of Maritime History, Boutiques, Art Galleries, Cafés
You can explore the Vieux Port (Old Port), with its small fishing boats and luxury yachts docked in the harbour, and La Ponche, the Old Town and historical centre of Saint Tropez. Other noteworthy sites worthy of a visit include the Annonciade Museum, located in the Chapel of the Annunciation. The Citadel, a hexagonal fortress, houses the Museum of Maritime History, and offers splendid panoramic vistas of the coast and Gulf of Saint Tropez. The Château de la Messardière is a spectacular, 19th-century castle perched on a quiet hillside overlooking the Bay of Pampelonne. You can also browse the lovely boutiques and art galleries, and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café or restaurant at your own expense.
Exquisite Beaches, Water Sports
From the drop-off point, with approximately 20-30 minutes walking, beach lovers might opt to visit one of Saint Tropez's exquisite and inviting beaches, which can be found along the coast Côte d'Azur in the Baie de Pampelonne, south of Saint Tropez. Included are Plage de Bouillabaisse, Plage des Canoubiers, Plage des Salins, Plage de la Ponche, Plage de la Fontanette, and Plage des Graniers. Many of these idyllic beaches offer a variety of water sports, including windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, power boating, jet biking, water skiing, and scuba diving.
At the appointed time, return to the drop-off point, re-board your coach, and commence the approximately 1 hour and 45-minute drive back to the pier.
