Upon arrival meet with your local food expert who will lead your journey through the market. Shidong Market opened its doors for business in 1992. Being the latest-established market in Taipei, it sports a more advanced design and modernistic environment than other traditional markets. One of its unique characteristics is the combination of Asian and Western flavor. The market is located in the foreign-expat enclave residency, resulting in a rich range of goods selection.

Cooking & Taiwanese Lunch Experience at The Kitchen Restaurant

After the market exploration, take a short walk to The Kitchen Restaurant. Following up, a destination-inspired cooking class will be expected. The cooking class will sample and savor the true Taiwanese flavor and the Taiwanese hospitality. Once the cooking is complete, enjoy the delightful culinary creations while having some time chatting with the local food expert.

Fresh seasonal fruits and a simple tea ceremony will be provided to finish the day.

Your culinary experience concludes with approximate one-hour drive back to the ship in Keelung.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking at the market with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the bus and further stairs to reach the cooking class room on the second floor of an older building. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Please wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. We recommend to bring local currency in cash (NTD) as some stands may not accept credit cards in case of souvenirs or local food purchase in the market.
