Excursion Tangier exploration tour at Tanger

Depart the pier for a short drive to Kasbah stroll inside its streets towards Medina. Upon arrival, walk to visit the American Legation Museum The first American public property outside the United States in Africa, the American Legation is now a museum that traces the history of the relationship between the United States and Morocco.

As Morocco was one of the first countries to recognize America's independence, the United States established its legation in Tangier in 1821. It is the only historical monument to have remained in American possession since the birth of the American nation. Amongst a number of displays here is a letter from George Washington to Moulay Abdellah.

Walk to Palais Zahia or Villa de France for a refreshment stop. Stroll inside the Medina home to a cavalcade of colour, charm, street musicians, a fish market, scenic handicrafts, and spices. to Petit Socco where a free time will be given. Walk to the buses and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Note

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 3 km, at times over uneven and cobblestone surfaces and inclines, with a several steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the sites visited. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water and local currency for purchases from the ship. Proper attire is required to enter the church; shorts, high heels and bare shoulders are not permitted. Guests are prohibited from taking photos of military personnel or locals without their consent. Guests are advised to mind their belongings at all times, particularly at tourist points-of-interest or crowded places. The tour sequence may vary. American Legation is closed on Weekends. In the event the Legation is closed, the Kasbah Museum will be visited instead.
