Excursion Vakaloa beach resort & swimming tour at Nuku Alofa

Relax and unwind on a pristine, remote island on the sun-drenched west coast of Tonga during this leisurely, half-day beach excursion.

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Vakaloa Beach Resort, located on Kanokupolu Beach approximately 11.8 miles (about 19 kilometres) from Nuku-alofa on the western side of the island. This pristine, remote island is untouched in its natural beauty, and can be explored during a stroll along the white-sand beach.

Although facilities are limited here, you are welcome to enjoy a lazy afternoon soaking up the tropical sun, swimming and relaxing, or enjoying a refreshing beverage and snack from the resort at your own expense. You can also browse the handicrafts for sale, and take home a souvenir of your visit. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at times over uneven, coral, natural and sandy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Walking at the resort is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with flat, closed-toe beach or boat shoes, and bring sun protection, biodegradable sunscreen, insect repellent, a towel, bottled water, and local currency for additional purchases from the ship. Reef shoes are recommended for swimming/snorkelling near coral, or walking across it. Guests are invited to bring their own snorkelling gear. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. No sun chairs or umbrellas are available. The buses are air-cooled. The buses are not equipped with P.A. systems nor microphones. Some of the roads are unpaved and rutted; the ride maybe bumpy. The restroom facilities may be rustic. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions.
