Begin your tour with a scenic drive to the idyllic village of Gudvangen. On route, we will see waterfalls, mountains, and the queen of the fjords: Hardangerfjord.

Tvindefossen Waterfall

After approximately one hour driving, enjoy a brief photo stop at Tvindefossen Waterfall to marvel at this stunning natural wonder.

Stalheim

Drive through Stalheim and enjoy spectacular views.

Nærøy Valley

Continue up the Nærøy valley following the well-known Salmon River, on both sides waterfalls plunge down the cliff sides, along the Nærøy-river with towering mountains on either side where waterfalls plunge down to the valley-floor.

Gudvangen

Reach Gudvangen, the place of Gods by the Nærøyfjord, the fjord dedicated to Njord- the god for trading and sailing. Here you will visit the Viking community where people have chosen to dedicate their lifestyle to the Viking era.

Viking Village

You will experience a Viking Village as it really could have been time more than thousand years ago. Let the Vikings impress you with their skills and know-how in handcrafts and history. If you feel like trying it yourself you can participate in axe throwing or archery. Or maybe rather chat with the Vikings and find out about what makes their lifestyle so different from nowadays. A lunch is included.

Skjervsfossen Waterfall

Following your memorable experience, enjoy the scenic drive back to Eidfjord, stopping for photos at Skjervsfossen waterfall along the way.

Note

Please note: This excursion involves a moderate amount of walking over some gradual slopes and uneven, gravel surfaces, making this tour unsuitable for guests in a wheelchair or for those with walking difficulties. Warm layered clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Total driving time between Eidfjord and Gudvangen is approximately 90 minutes. Part of the scenic driving is the same as featured in some of the tours from Flam.
