Depart the pier aboard a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) with your professional driver - guide for your scenic and exciting ride up towards Mineral Creek Canyon from downtown Valdez. Mineral Creek is an approximately 10-mile-long (about 16-kilometre-long) creek flowing out of the Chugach Mountains from the Mineral Creek Glacier, then down a narrow valley behind Valdez before emptying into the Port of Valdez.

During your approximately two-hour, guided, and adrenaline-filled adventure up the Mineral Creek Canyon, travelling by UTV enables you to access panoramic vantage-points that cannot be reached by coach. Sites to be seen include the Chugach and other nearby mountains and valleys, Mineral Creek Canyon, towering peaks, glaciers, rivers, lakes, streams, waterfalls, the Port of Valdez, and more.

Photo Stops

Along the way, several photo stops are made to capture the pristine natural beauty of your expansive surrounds. Mineral Creek Canyon also offers wonderful opportunities to spot local wildlife. Your unforgettable, off-road UTV adventure concludes back at the pier.

Please note: The ride may be rough at times, and guests will experience bumpy, jerking motions. This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests with a fear of heights, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to warm, comfortable clothing in layers that they won't mind getting dirty, including long pants and long-sleeve shirts with flat, sturdy, and closed-toe walking or hiking shoes, and bring sun protection, a weatherproof jacket, raingear, bottled water. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Minors 5 and younger must bring a car seat. Guests weighing over 250 pounds (about 113 kilograms) are required to pay for an additional seat to participate on this tour. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions. A signed waiver is required to participate on this tour. Space on this tour is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment. This is NOT a self-driven tour.
