White Pass & Yukon Route

Depart the pier for the brief transfer, or short walk (depending on the docking location), to the railway station. Climb aboard the luxury carriage of the legendary 'Scenic Railway of the World' for an exclusive on the rails adventure through Skagway's White Pass & Yukon Route. From the comfort of your vintage luxury car, you will take in breathtaking panoramic vistas of mountains, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles, and historic sites. Also included is a full commentary featuring the history of the Gold Rush and how this railroad became an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

White Pass Summit

The White Pass Summit, the international boundary between the United States and Canada, is reached after a 20.4-mile (32.6-kilometre) journey. As the train reaches White Pass you will receive a brass ornament commemorating your ride aboard the White Pass & Yukon Route.

Then, commence the return 80-minute southbound journey back to Skagway and return you to the ship

Please note: This tour requires a minimal amount of walking for approximately 300 feet (92 metres) with three steps to embark/disembark the train. Differently from the standard carriages, the luxury carriage is not equipped with a wheelchair-lift, therefore this tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility but not for guests utilizing a wheelchair. Scooters cannot be accommodated. Guests must be 21 and older to participate in this experience. The luxury carriage is exclusive to 14 Silversea guests, space is very limited and we recommend to book in advance. Guests will not get off the train at the summit.
